Baby Carrier Consultations
I visit expectant parents and new families in the Greater Portland area, or have clients here to my home for consultations.
I explain the benefits and joys of wearing your baby through toddlerhood in a soft fabric carrier. During this first meeting I also briefly review the research behind the recent growth in the medical community’s promotion of babywearing and demonstrate the various types of recommended soft fabric carriers.
I keep some of these types of carriers in stock for clients to purchase, and samples are available to feel, try on, and occasionally borrow. I am also happy to assist you with learning to confidently and comfortably use a soft carrier you already own. I will also advise you if it fits improperly, is developmentally unhealthy for your child, or has been recalled.

Babywearing Classes
I visit non-profit parenting groups, breastfeeding support groups, general playgroups of interested families and other group settings across the Greater Portland area. I am available for single sessions or lesson series. Please inquire regarding fees for larger groups or lesson series.

Available Carriers
I keep 4 types of carriers, and 6 brands in stock. I choose brands based on the value a carrier will provide to a family, and the ethical standards of the company manufacturing the carrier. I focus on carrying professional-quality, USA-made carriers with a focus on Maine-made carriers (yes, we have some wonderful ones made right here!)
Demo models are available to try for each brand that I stock. Because my clients have convenient access to try each carrier with their own child, and have unlimited opportunities to ask questions, the families I have worked with experience great success in comfortably and confidently wearing their children.
